Michael Acierno, DDS

Dr. Acierno grew up on the northwest side of Chicago where he attended Notre Dame high school for boys.  As a high school student at Notre Dame, he became involved in sports, theater, and academics.  After graduation, he went on to attend Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska.  He chose Creighton because of their strong healthcare graduate programs as well as their strong Jesuit background.  He graduated from Creighton undergrad with a double major in Biology and Environmental Science.  He then proceeded to graduate from Creighton University Dental school in 1999,  where he obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.  Upon graduation, he decided to move back to the Northwest side of Chicago.

In 2002 he took over Dr. Stanley Borchers dental practice.  Dr. Borchers practiced for over 25 years at his current practice and retired in 2002.  He has two fantastic children.  Dr. Acierno is very active in the surrounding community.  He is an active member of the Edison Park Chamber of Commerce and participates in various charitable events.  He is also very active at his alma mater Notre Dame High School.  He also helps coach basketball and football at St. Eugene grade school and Norridge Park district.

He strongly believes in educating himself in all aspects of dentistry.  He is continually taking hours upon hours of continuing education courses to keep up with the future of dentistry. This is not only a benefit to him but enables him to bring the latest information and techniques to his patients.  He has been taught and will always follow the ideals of doing anything and everything for my patients.  As a dentist, he will always put the patients well being first and will always strive to become a better dentist for you.

Dr. Kathleen Daly

I grew up in Park Ridge, IL and studied chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. I went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Creighton University in Omaha, NE, where I was elected into the Omricon Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

I prioritize patient comfort and quality comprehensive care. I believe that educating patients about their oral health is imperative to their overall health. In my spare time, I enjoy golfing with my three sisters, running, and trying new recipes.

A fun fact about me is that prior to dental school, I started my dental career as an assistant at Acierno Family Dentistry, so it is an honor to come full circle and return to the practice as a dentist. I look forward to working with you soon.

Dr. Brandon Rentmeester

I was born and raised in Green Bay so I am a Packer fan, but don’t hold that against me. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2015, and worked at a Milwaukee area dental lab for two years prior to dental school.

My Doctor of Dental Surgery degree was earned at Creighton University School of Dentistry, where I received an incredible education in clinical dentistry. The diverse patient population at Creighton allowed me to become proficient in clinical dentistry, including fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, extractions, dentures, and more.

My favorite part about being a dentist is serving and educating my patients. Ask me anything, and I will be glad to help you understand. Visits to the dentist can be stressful and sometimes overwhelming. I find the best way to help patients feel comfortable is to keep open lines of communication. If you are wondering why I am doing things a certain way, ask! I love answering questions, and providing treatment options that work for a patient’s unique needs. My job is to keep my patients smiling, and that is why I absolutely love what I do.

After four years of living in Omaha I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to live in Chicago, and to be that much closer to home. When I am not in the office, I enjoy watching baseball, playing golf, cooking, and exploring Chicago. When I get the chance to travel, my favorite destination is my family’s lake cottage in northern Wisconsin.

I look forward to serving my community, and I cannot wait to meet you!

Dr. Dwayne Karateew, Periodontist

I completed dental school at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. Additionally, I attended a one-year AEGD residency, also at The Presbyterian Medical Center at Columbia University. I went on to complete my certificates in both periodontics and fixed prosthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

I have practiced for 20 years in my hometown of Vancouver maintaining a practice which focused on periodontics, prosthodontics, and implant centered dentistry. Currently, I am a Clinical Professor and Program Director of the Advanced Education in Periodontology (PG Residency) at UIC College of Dentistry in Chicago where I am involved in both the education of the postgraduate periodontology residents as well as with clinical research. I have earned the status of a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery as well as being both a Fellow and Diplomate of the Academy of Osseointegration. I am also considered an international expert on implant dentistry having participated in and co-chaired two international summits on best practice guidelines and polices for dental implants.

My wife, Dr. Mitra Sadrameli (Oral and MaxilloFacial Radiologist), and I relocated to Chicago and have now lived here for nine years. From our urban apartment in the city center, we are enjoying exploring Chicago with our two dogs (Shiba Inu’s, Kibo and Kenta) and absorbing its history and architecture. I also enjoy fly fishing, downhill skiing, golfing and gourmet cooking.
